A great hands on introduction to pottery and firing for youth. Students will learn how to prepare clay for working, explore surface decoration and textures, learn basic throwing techniques and handbuilding forms. The 5th week students will glaze pieces to complete their work.
Ages 12–17, no experience necessary. Limit 8 students, instructor Daisy Goldstein Cross.

About this class and Raku firing
I started my clay experience at the age of 13 and had a strong school district program throughout high school. The object of this class is to provide a strong ceramic resource to that same age group.
A great hands on introduction to pottery for youth. Students will learn how to prepare clay for working, explore surface decoration and textures, learn basic throwing techniques and making pottery forms for 4 Saturdays. The 5th week students will glaze pieces to participate in a Raku firing on May 22 (raindate May 23).
Price includes clay, glazes and the Raku firing.
